My imdb rating
For several years I have been given IMDB rating to movie. This is a pie chart overview of my ratings.

Some interesting numbers:
13.11 % of the movies got top rating
49.81 % of the movies got a higher rating than 8
10.11% got the lowest rating.
With background of these numbers then it looks like I only watch good movies or rate movies too high, but can I trust the data? Not really.
The first thought was when do I vote for a movie. Total movies I have voted for is currently 267 and I have been voting since 2000. During a period of 6 years this should be 44.5 movies a year. This number is way too low. I reckon that I at least see 200 movies a year where at least 150 of them is movies I never have seen before. So when do I actually decide to vote for a movie. Movies who have got high ratings is movies who is either made from some of my favorite directors or was fairly unknown to me when I watched it. Usually a reason for me to read more about the movie after seeing it. Either memorable quotes or the discussion board.
Second thing i notice is that most of the movies on the list I either seen at an art cinema or watched home on dvd/vhs. Movies watched home got a higher chance to get a vote from me since it is very easy to go from my sofa to my pc and give it a vote. I also notice that the DVDs I bought when I did not have access to IMDB never got a vote. Art cinema movies again also get a vote since they usually makes me think about it and therefor remember it when I have access to a pc.
So if anyone is interested to see my vote history then it is accessible here. Please note that I probarbly would had given some of the movies a different vote today.
Norway says no to Afghanistan
For the first time ever am I happy that we have a socialistic politic party in the Norwegian goverment. This is because the goverment have decided NOT to send military forces to south parts of Afhanistan as requested by NATO. It was expected that they wanted to send 150 special trained soldiers. I hope that this is the beginning of less involvement for Norwegian soldiers in operations where NATO is the attacking part and more involvment in operations where NATO have a role as an inspector.
Film from south festival
Film from south (Film fra sør) festival in Oslo is recently finished. This year festival focused on the Iranian director Kiarostami. Unfortuantly I have not been able to see any of his movies yet, but will try to see some of the the next couple of weeks at Cinematektet in Oslo. Still managed to see other movies and 2 of them made huge impact on me.
The first one was the Argentinian movie Elsa and Fred (Elsa y Fred). Elsa and Fred is a warm and funny movie about 2 old people falling in love with each other and behaving like teenager. I was very sceptical before seeing this movie. Is it one genre of movie I really hate then it is romantic comedy. This movie proved me wrong. I do like romantic comedy if the movie is like Elsy and Fred. Mainly because of brilliant acting. characters, script and cinematography. This movie also ended up winning the viewers award for best movie and got a honorable notice from the jury.
The second movie was a deeply disturbing film from India. Water is the last part of a triology by Deepa Metha. The film is set to the 1930 and is about Chuyia, a 7 year old girl, who becomes a widow and is sent to a house for widows. When a husbond dies then half of the wife dies and they must live a life isolated from the other world. Chuyia becomes a friend with one of the other widow, that one days meets and falls in love with a follower of Gandhi and vica versa. What I really liked with this movie except of the story was all the colours. Sometimes you almost want to cry because some of the scenes are so beatiful. Additional I really like the story. I find it very interesting that it is set during the period Gandhi protested against the English. One of the best movies I have seen.
